PORTLAND, Ore. — Two juveniles and an adult were arrested Wednesday after an armed carjacking in Southeast Portland led to a police pursuit and crash.
Portland police said officers responded around 10 a.m. to reports of a carjacking at gunpoint in a parking lot near Southeast 143rd Avenue and Southeast Stark Street. A man told officers his vehicle was stolen by multiple suspects.
About an hour later, authorities spotted the stolen vehicle near Southeast 172nd Avenue and Southeast Ankeny Street. When officers attempted to stop it, the driver fled before crashing into a garbage truck near Northeast 178th Avenue and Northeast Davis Street. Three suspects ran from the scene but were quickly arrested.
One suspect, 27-year-old Julian D. Lane of Gresham, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on multiple charges, including first-degree robbery and unlawful use of a weapon. The two juvenile suspects, ages 15 and 16, were taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center on similar charges.
