STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A middle school student is facing charges after making a bomb threat on a school bus Thursday afternoon, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies responded to the area of Monument Drive and Muster Drive at approximately 4:26 p.m. after receiving reports that a student had loudly claimed to have a bomb while riding home.
Sergeant J.T. Harrod III arrived on the scene and removed the student from the bus. A search was conducted, and no explosive device was found.
Juvenile Intake was contacted and decided to release the student to a parent. A charge of making a threat to bomb is pending.
Authorities say they take all threats seriously and will continue investigating the incident.
