NYPD seeks suspect in Bronx subway station robbery of 16-year-old boy

BRONX, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for a robbery at the 161st Street subway station in the Bronx on Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:09 p.m. in the mezzanine area of the station, located within the confines of the 44th Precinct and Transit District 11. Authorities said a 16-year-old male was approached by an unidentified individual who forcibly took his cellphone while simulating a firearm.

The suspect then fled the station in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.

Police described the suspect as a male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, a black hair net, and black sweatpants.
