WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A 14-year-old boy from Stratford, Conn., has been indicted on murder and weapons charges in connection with a fatal shooting at Doyle Park in Yonkers, Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced.
The defendant, whose name has not been released due to his age, was arraigned Tuesday in the Youth Part of Westchester County Court. He faces charges including second-degree murder, attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to the custody of the Westchester County Department of Correction at Woodfield Cottage.
The shooting occurred on Aug. 26, 2024, when the defendant allegedly fired at two victims. Daquan Glenn, 29, was shot multiple times, including twice in the head, and later died at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center. A second victim was found nearby with a gunshot wound to the leg and survived. Prosecutors say the defendant acted in concert with another person during the attack.
“The circumstances surrounding this case are tragic and disturbing,” DA Cacace said. “Daquan Glenn should be alive today, and we will work to provide his family, and the community, with a measure of justice.”
The defendant, who faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life if convicted, is set to return to court on Feb. 6.
