NEW YORK — The NYPD is searching for a suspect who struck a passenger in the face with an object on a Manhattan-bound “6” train near the 51st Street subway station on Friday.
According to police, the incident occurred on January 26 as the train was approaching the station. The unidentified individual fled the scene following the attack, which left the victim injured. The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been disclosed.
The assault is under investigation by the NYPD’s Transit District 4 and the 17th Precinct. Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted anonymously online, with a reward of up to $3,500 available for information leading to an arrest.
