STAFFORD COUNTY, VA – A Stafford man faces DUI and multiple other charges following a Wednesday evening traffic stop in Aquia Harbour that escalated into a confrontation.

On January 22, at approximately 8:55 p.m., an officer conducting a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Aquia Drive suspected the driver was intoxicated. According to Stafford County authorities, the driver, identified as 35-year-old Devon Mulgrew, refused to exit the vehicle and began rummaging through the glove box.

The officer managed to remove Mulgrew from the vehicle and handcuff him. Stafford County deputies, including Sergeant M.L. Jacobeen, assisted in placing Mulgrew into a police vehicle, during which the suspect continued to resist.
