TIMONIUM, MD — A Maryland Lottery player, affectionately nicknamed “Glo,” believes a sign from her late father led her to a $50,000 Pick 5 win.

The longtime Lottery player, who often tries her luck with Multi-Match and Pick 5, found inspiration during a routine drive. After noticing a license plate displaying her father’s birthday, she stopped at the Marathon station on York Road in Lutherville and purchased a ticket using those meaningful numbers.

Weeks later, “Glo” discovered her good fortune while scanning her tickets with her sister, learning she had matched the numbers in the Nov. 1 Pick 5 evening drawing.

The $50,000 win will help “Glo” fund home renovations and save for her children’s future. Meanwhile, the Marathon station that sold the winning ticket will also benefit, earning a $500 Lottery bonus.
