Philadelphia police seek suspect in armed robbery of cell phone store

PHILADELPHIA — Police are searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Cricket cell phone store in Germantown on January 12, 2025. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division released surveillance footage of the incident on Wednesday in an effort to identify the suspect.

The robbery occurred at approximately 12:26 p.m. at 200 W. Chelten Avenue. According to police, the suspect arrived in a dark-colored Nissan SUV, which he parked behind the store. Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the store, brandishing a firearm, and robbing the establishment before fleeing out the back door. The suspect then returned to his vehicle and was last seen driving near Pulaski and Coulter Streets.

Police also revealed that the same store had been targeted in another gunpoint robbery on December 4, 2024, and investigators believe the same suspect may be responsible for both incidents.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle to contact the Northwest Detective Division or submit an anonymous tip by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477).
