SILVER SPRING, Md. — Two suspects are on the run after a violent armed robbery at the Holiday Inn on Georgia Avenue that left the desk clerk injured and police searching for answers.
The robbery unfolded on Wednesday evening, when one suspect, armed with a handgun, assaulted the clerk before stealing cash from the hotel. The second individual acted as a lookout during the crime. Both fled the scene in a black four-door Chevrolet sedan, last seen heading toward Washington, D.C.
Police have provided detailed descriptions of the suspects. Police describe suspect one as a Black male in his overdue 30s to early 40s, about 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing blue insulated coveralls, black boots, blue micro-foam nitrile-coated gloves, a black knit hat, and a black surgical-style mask. He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. Suspect two is described as a Black male, also in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gray New Balance shoes, black gloves, and a large watch on his left wrist. He was also wearing goggle-style glasses with a black facemask.
