EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A fugitive was taken into custody without incident Wednesday during a warrant service operation involving U.S. Marshals, New Jersey State Police (NJSP), and local law enforcement, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department announced.
The operation took place in the area of Atlas Lane, prompting the Joy Miller School to implement a precautionary shelter-in-place protocol during the afternoon. Authorities have not disclosed details about the suspect or the charges associated with the warrant.
“Our agency was contacted to assist the U.S. Marshals and NJSP,” Egg Harbor Township police said in a statement, adding that the situation was resolved peacefully.
The shelter-in-place order was lifted after the suspect’s arrest, and officials confirmed the area is now secure.
