FREEHOLD, N.J. — Two men have been charged with orchestrating a scheme to steal nearly $300,000 from a Holmdel-based company through a fraudulent pest control business and stolen credit-card information, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced Tuesday.
Jacob Gindi, 33, of Ocean Township, and Jimmy Dabbah, 34, of Brooklyn, face multiple charges, including second-degree computer theft, conspiracy to commit theft, and financial facilitation of criminal activity. Both men turned themselves in to authorities earlier this week and have been released on their own recognizance pending court proceedings.
Prosecutors say that in May 2023, Dabbah created an account with the victim company using a business named Rapid Pest Control. During a 10-day period later that year, the company’s software and credit-card platform were used to process over 750 fraudulent transactions, totaling nearly $296,000. Investigators determined Rapid Pest Control provided no pest-control services and that most of the stolen funds were funneled into two companies controlled by Gindi—PCO Marketing Inc. and Infinity Trading Solutions LLC. Gindi allegedly used the funds for personal expenses, including credit-card payments, car expenses, and tuition bills.
When Dabbah surrendered to authorities, a concealed knife was found in his belt buckle during a security screening, resulting in additional weapons charges. Both men are scheduled for initial appearances in Monmouth County Superior Court on February 27.
