PHILADELPHIA — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Philadelphia, in collaboration with the U.S. Border Patrol’s El Centro Sector Intelligence Unit, arrested a 53-year-old Ecuadorian fugitive in Bangor, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 3. The individual is wanted in Ecuador on rape charges.
The fugitive was taken into custody outside his residence. ICE is withholding his name due to privacy considerations tied to the ongoing case and for the victim(s). Authorities confirmed that the arrest was the result of interagency cooperation and intelligence sharing between federal immigration enforcement teams.

“Through our significant interagency cooperation and the dedication of our officers, we are able to track and apprehend dangerous criminal noncitizens no matter where they may be in the U.S.,” said ERO Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane.
The individual is currently in custody as ICE moves forward with removal proceedings. The agency stated that the arrest aligns with its mission of protecting public safety and enforcing immigration laws.
