Conservative commentator and podcast host Dave Rubin expressed strong criticism of the American far-left in a recent statement, describing what he sees as a collapse of the intellectual Left. Rubin, known for his political commentary and his evolution from liberalism to conservatism, remarked on the current state of progressive movements in the U.S.
Rubin, host of the “Rubin Report”, has 1.6 million followers on X.
“What’s fascinating right now is how the intellectual Left has been absolutely demolished,” Rubin said. He argued that many self-described “sane liberals” have shifted their support to former President Donald Trump, leaving behind what he characterized as a fragmented and increasingly extreme faction.
Rubin labeled the remaining far-left activists as “a bunch of larping jihadists, irrelevant socialists, antifa babies and general retards,” using inflammatory language to describe his perspective on their influence. He also claimed that the group relies on violence, which he suggested is selectively deployed.
“I should note that all this clown car has left is violence, which they turn on and off whenever they want,” Rubin added, emphasizing his belief that their tactics still pose a threat. While acknowledging what he perceives as a decline in the movement’s power, Rubin cautioned against complacency, stating, “We should take the win for now, but not pretend they’re gone.”
