Two men injured in double shooting at Philadelphia laundromat

PHILADELPHIA — Two men were injured in a shooting late Monday morning at the E-Laundromat on the 6500 block of Elmwood Avenue in the city’s 12th District, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:44 a.m. when gunfire erupted inside the laundromat. A 41-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

A second victim, a 33-year-old man, was also shot once in the right leg. He was taken to the same hospital, where he was likewise listed in stable condition, according to authorities.

Police have taken a person of interest into custody and recovered one weapon at the scene. Officials have not released further details on the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed whether any charges have been filed.
