GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A family of seven was displaced after a house fire broke out Sunday morning on Lee Ann Drive in the Somerdale section of Gloucester Township, authorities said.
Police and fire units responded to the scene at approximately 11:37 a.m., where they found smoke and flames pouring from the second floor of the home. All residents had safely evacuated before first responders arrived, police said.

Firefighters from multiple departments, including Gloucester Township Squad 88, Chews Landing Fire Department, and others from nearby towns, worked together to bring the fire under control. Inspira EMS and the Gloucester Township Office of Emergency Management also assisted at the scene.
No injuries were reported among residents or emergency personnel, though a family pet, a cat, died in the fire, officials confirmed. The displaced family is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire does not appear suspicious, but it remains under investigation by the Chews Landing Fire Department Fire Marshal.
