NEW YORK, NY – An odd side story is developing on Inauguration Day as New York City Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez drew minor attention in an attention-getting post on Tik Tok.

AOC says she will not be attending Trump’s inauguration ceremony, believing those not-aligned with her would care about her decision, but sparking a debate, calling the President of the United States, a rapist.

In a viral video that has sparked significant controversy, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has explicitly stated she will not attend Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration, labeling him a “rapist.” This statement comes amid heightened political tensions as Donald Trump prepares to assume the presidency once again.

Ocasio-Cortez made her remarks in response to a direct question about her attendance at the inauguration, stating, “I don’t celebrate rapists, so no, I’m not going to the inauguration.” This comment refers to the legal findings against Trump in the E. Jean Carroll case, where a judge clarified that while the jury technically found Trump liable for sexual abuse rather than “rape” under New York’s penal law, the actions described by the jury effectively align with the common understanding of rape.

Trump’s legal team has been known to aggressively challenge public figures and media outlets who make such claims. Just weeks ago, ABC News settled a defamation lawsuit with Trump for $15 million after an anchor referred to him as being found “liable for rape” by a jury, an assertion that was later clarified as “sexual abuse” in legal terms.
