New York City Expecting Snow Today: Here's How Much

NEW YORK, N.Y. — A winter weather advisory remains in effect from 1 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday for New York City, southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and parts of Long Island, as snow and falling temperatures are expected to create hazardous conditions.

Rain and snow are forecast to begin mid-morning, transitioning to all snow by late afternoon as temperatures drop from a high of 37 degrees to around 32 degrees. Wind chill values will range between 25 and 30 degrees, with a north wind of around 10 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.

Snow will continue into the evening, tapering off by 1 a.m., with additional accumulation of 2 to 4 inches expected. Overnight temperatures will fall to 18 degrees, with wind chill values between 5 and 15 degrees due to north winds of 15 to 17 mph.

The National Weather Service has urged caution, warning of slick roads and reduced visibility. Spotter activation may be needed to assist in tracking the storm’s impact.
