TRENTON, N.J. — Despite widespread media reports warning of a potential “bomb cyclone” and up to a foot of snow, the National Weather Service (NWS) is not forecasting any major snowstorm for New Jersey in the coming days.
According to the latest NWS updates, the the central part of the state will experience showers today with temperatures reaching a high near 45°F. Rain is expected to taper off by the evening, followed by mostly cloudy skies and overnight lows around 31°F.
On Sunday, forecasters predict a mix of rain and snow, particularly in the morning, with temperatures peaking near 35°F. However, any snow accumulation is expected to be minimal, with less than one inch anticipated.
Sunday night could bring additional snow mixed with rain before midnight, but conditions are forecast to clear by early Monday. Temperatures will drop to around 18°F, accompanied by brisk northwest winds.

A chance of snow before 10am, then rain and snow likely between 10am and 1pm, then snow after 1pm. High near 35. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. North wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Sunday Night
Snow likely, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 16. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. Northwest wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
The NWS has not issued any winter storm warnings or advisories for New Jersey, countering claims of a severe snow event circulating on some media platforms.
While unsettled weather is expected, current forecasts indicate no significant snowstorm is on the horizon for the region.
