QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY, Md. — A mobile home fire in Queen Anne’s County claimed the lives of two residents Wednesday afternoon, prompting an active investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal and the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire broke out around 2 p.m. at a double-wide manufactured home located at 504 Fox Meadow Road. A passing school bus driver spotted the blaze and immediately called 911.
Firefighters from the Queen Anne–Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company and neighboring departments arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
After extinguishing the fire, crews discovered the remains of two victims inside the residence.
Investigators, along with K9 Deacon, are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
The identities of the victims have not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
