Wilkes-Barre man faces charges after dragging woman down flight of stairs in violent outburst over soccer game

WILKES-BARRE, PA — A Wilkes-Barre man was arrested following a domestic assault on Madison Street early Sunday morning, according to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department.

Officers responded to a residence at approximately 8:10 a.m. on January 12, 2025, after receiving a report of a domestic dispute.

The 35-year-old female victim told police she was involved in a verbal argument with Christian Santillo, 34, over a soccer game. The altercation escalated when Santillo allegedly dragged her down a flight of stairs and smashed her cellphone against a radiator.

Santillo was taken into custody without incident and transported to City Headquarters for processing. No further details about charges or the victim’s condition have been released as the investigation continues.
