OWINGS MILLS, MD — A Racetrax player from Owings Mills scored a $75,227 win and says his 10 grandchildren will be the real beneficiaries of his big payout.
The longtime Maryland Lottery player claimed his prize on Jan. 13 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore after hitting a Superfecta bet. He plans to celebrate by taking his grandchildren to an indoor waterpark and resort in Perryville for a weekend getaway.
“I’ve got 10 grandbabies. That’s a lot of grandbabies,” he said, recalling a past trip to Great Wolf Lodge where he admitted, “I think I had more fun than they did!”
The winner placed a $1 Superfecta bet on horses 12, 7, 2, and 11 for 10 races, with the horses finishing in exact order during the first race, securing the payout.
He continues to play other Lottery games, including Pick 5, with hopes of one day winning the $250,000 top prize.
