Suspect wanted after violent robbery attempt in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in an attempted robbery in Northeast D.C.

The incident occurred on November 26th, at approximately 8:20 p.m. on the 600 block of H Street, Northeast. According to police, the victim was approached by two suspects who grabbed him and demanded his cell phone.

One of the suspects struck the victim before both fled the scene on foot, authorities said.

Surveillance footage from the area captured one of the suspects, and police have released an image in hopes of identifying the individual.

The Metropolitan Police Department encourages anyone with information about the incident or the suspect to call (202) 727-9099 or text tips anonymously to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
