Newark police seek two women for questioning in Christmas Eve shooting

NEWARK, NJ — The Newark Department of Public Safety is asking for the public’s assistance in locating two women wanted for questioning in connection with an aggravated assault investigation.

Tina Riggsbee, 36, and Christina Lalin, 35, are both being sought for information related to a shooting that occurred on December 24, 2024.

Police responded to reports of gunfire around 12:36 p.m. near Clinton Avenue and South 16th Street. Officers canvassing the area recovered a .45 caliber shell casing. Surveillance footage captured an unidentified individual firing shots toward the 900 block of South 16th Street before fleeing the scene in a red sedan.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. is urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Riggsbee or Lalin to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All tips are anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
