BRONX, NY — A Bronx man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old boy, police announced Saturday.

Waldo Mejia, 29, was taken into custody on January 11 at 10:00 a.m. and charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The charges stem from an incident on Friday, January 10, when officers responded to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln at approximately 9:33 a.m. for a report of a teenage boy with multiple stab wounds.

Hospital staff informed police that the 14-year-old victim had sustained several stab wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

An investigation revealed that the stabbing occurred in front of 300 East 138th Street, within the 40th Precinct.
