Two Men Charged in String of Burglaries and Weapons Offenses in Hamilton Township

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Township of Hamilton Police Department has concluded a months-long investigation into a series of burglaries and thefts, resulting in charges against two Mays Landing men.

Joseph Stansberry, 39, and Thomas Turner, 49, were arrested on November 25, 2024, in Mays Landing with assistance from the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force. The arrests followed a wave of burglaries reported in the Weymouth section of Hamilton Township beginning in late summer and continuing through the fall.

Stansberry has been charged with three counts of burglary, four counts of theft, receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a weapon, and being a certain person not to possess a weapon.

Turner faces charges of receiving stolen property, possession of a handgun, possession of hollow point ammunition, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and being a certain person not to possess a weapon.

Both suspects are being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility as the investigation concludes.

The arrests bring closure to a string of burglaries that unsettled Hamilton Township for months.
