PARKVILLE, MD — A Powerball ticket purchased in Parkville matched enough numbers in the January 8 drawing to secure a $50,000 third-tier prize, Maryland Lottery officials announced Thursday.

The winning ticket was sold at J Convenience, located at 8765 Satyr Hill Road in Parkville. The numbers drawn were 1, 20, 36, 38, and 43, with a Powerball of 24 and a Power Play multiplier of x2.

This marks the first $50,000 Powerball winner in Maryland for 2025, following a $100,000 third-tier win on January 1. In total, 10,261 Maryland players won Powerball prizes in the January 8 drawing, with winnings ranging from $4 to $100.

Since no player hit the jackpot, Saturday’s drawing on January 11 will feature a grand prize estimated at $263 million as an annuity or $117.7 million as a cash option.

The Lottery urges all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately, keep them secure, and claim prizes within 182 days of the drawing.
