BROOKLYN, NY — Two Powerball tickets, each worth $50,000, were sold in New York for the Jan. 6 drawing, the New York Lottery announced Sunday.
The winning tickets were purchased at 99 C Superior Market, located at 763 Rogers Avenue in Brooklyn, and Speedway, located at 365 Fairview Avenue in Hudson. Both matched four numbers plus the Power Ball to secure the third-prize payout.
Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of one to 69, with the red Power Ball selected from a separate field of one to 26. Drawings take place three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m.
The New York Lottery, which generated $3.8 billion for public education in fiscal year 2023-2024, remains the largest lottery in North America.
