Pennsylvania player wins $7 million Cash4Life top prize in historic first

WIND GAP, PA — Pennsylvania’s first-ever $1,000 a day for life Cash4Life® top prize was won in Northampton County for the Jan. 3 drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced Monday.

The winning ticket, sold at GIANT Food Stores on Male Road in Wind Gap, matched all five white balls—12, 25, 28, 47, 55—and the green Cash Ball 1. The prize offers an annuity of $365,000 annually for life or a lump-sum cash option of $7 million, less applicable taxes.

The retailer that sold the historic ticket will receive a $10,000 bonus. The Pennsylvania Lottery advises winners to sign the back of their tickets and file claims as soon as possible, with a one-year deadline from the drawing date to claim prizes.

Since joining the multi-state Cash4Life® game in 2015, Pennsylvania has awarded 17 second-tier $1 million prizes, but this marks the first time the state has awarded the game’s top prize. More than 4,800 other tickets in Pennsylvania also won prizes in the Jan. 3 drawing.
