BRICK TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Brick Township Council selected Derrick Ambrosino to serve as its Council President for 2025 during its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 7, officials announced.
Ambrosino, who has been a council member since 2022, will lead the Council’s legislative activities, set meeting agendas, and ensure productive discussions throughout the year. He replaces outgoing Council President John Talty.
Appointed in October 2022 to fill the seat of a resigning councilman, Ambrosino won re-election in 2023 and served as Council Vice-President in 2024. A lifelong resident of Brick Township and graduate of Brick Township High School, Ambrosino has been active in local organizations, youth sports, and environmental efforts such as Beach Sweeps and Clean Ocean Action.
As Council President, Ambrosino emphasized his dedication to fiscal responsibility, public safety, and preserving Brick’s community identity. He also supports local businesses, senior services, public events like SummerFest and the Farmers Market, and improvements to public spaces.
The Council also selected Vince Minichino to serve as Vice-President for 2025.
The reorganization meeting reaffirmed Ambrosino’s leadership and commitment to the well-being of Brick Township residents.
