SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — An Ohio man allegedly admitted to killing his ex-girlfriend in a 911 call before leading police on a car chase and later taking his own life, according to law enforcement officials.

Stanley Casimir, whose age has not been disclosed, called 911 on the night of Jan. 1 and told dispatchers, “I just killed my girlfriend, my ex-girlfriend, I just killed her,” authorities said. His call came after several reports of gunfire outside an apartment complex in Springfield, where police later found a woman dead from multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk.

One of the 911 callers was the victim’s sister, who told dispatchers that Casimir had previously threatened to shoot her sibling following their recent separation. Casimir reportedly told 911 that he was sitting in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store with a gun in his lap, and described having been kicked out of his girlfriend’s home the night before.

“I just killed her,” Casimir repeated during the call. He also stated that he intended to take his own life, adding, “We just going to have some fun before I kill myself. That’s it.” Before abruptly ending the call, he did not elaborate on what he meant by “fun.”

When officers arrived at the Kroger parking lot, Casimir fled in his vehicle, initiating a pursuit with police. The chase ended with Casimir reportedly taking his own life, although further details on the conclusion of the chase have not been released.
