QUEENS, NY — A 55-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run incident that occurred in May in the Rockaway area, police announced.
Thomas McDade, of Queens, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, November 16, 2024, months after he was struck by a gray Honda CRV near Beach 208 Street and Rockaway Point Boulevard. The incident took place on May 13, 2024, at approximately 5:24 p.m., when the driver of the vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Rockaway Point Boulevard. McDade was transported to Brookdale Hospital at the time and had been in stable condition.
Following an investigation, police arrested Malcolm Anglin, 31, of Brooklyn, on June 19, 2024. Anglin was charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and leaving the scene of an incident involving personal injury.
The charges may now be upgraded following McDade’s death. The investigation remains ongoing.
