GREENBELT, MD — A Prince George’s County woman is celebrating a $50,000 lottery win that came just in time to cover the cost of new windows for her home.

The long-time Maryland Lottery player purchased the winning $10 Mega Bucks ticket at Royal Farms, located at 6460 Capitol Drive in Greenbelt. She scratched the ticket at home and used the Maryland Lottery app to confirm her prize.

“This was shocking,” the winner said on December 27 at Lottery headquarters. After verifying her win several times, she decided to use part of her winnings to pay off her new windows early, put some into savings, and help her son with his student loans.

A regular player, the winner isn’t slowing down her lottery enthusiasm. “I stopped off across the street on my way in,” she said, referring to her claim visit, and added she’s already dreaming of a $1 billion jackpot win.

The Royal Farms retailer where the ticket was sold is also a winner, receiving a $500 bonus for selling the prize-winning ticket.
