NEW YORK, NY — A man was discovered with burn injuries at Penn Station on Friday night, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The man, initially identified as 56 but later clarified to be 67 years old, was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition, according to the New York Police Department.

The New York Fire Department said it received a report around 8 p.m. of a man with burns at the bustling Manhattan train hub. Fire officials described the injuries as serious but not life-threatening as he was taken for treatment.

Police and fire officials have not determined the cause of the burns. The man’s identity was not immediately confirmed, and no further details about the incident were released.

The episode comes just days after a woman was fatally burned at a different subway station in the city, raising concerns about safety on public transit. However, authorities have not suggested a connection between the two incidents.
