14-year-old boy dies after Christmas Eve shooting in Dover

DOVER, DE — A 14-year-old boy who was critically injured in a Christmas Eve shooting in Dover has died, police confirmed Friday.

The victim, identified as Juwan Walker of Dover, was shot on December 24, 2024, while sitting in a parked vehicle on Willis Road, just north of North Little Creek Road. Two suspects approached the vehicle, and one fired multiple shots, striking Walker in the upper body before fleeing on foot, according to the Dover Police Department.

Walker was initially taken to Bayhealth Kent Campus in a privately owned vehicle and later flown to Nemours Hospital in New Castle County due to the severity of his injuries. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries on December 27.

Police are continuing to investigate the shooting and are seeking information to identify the suspects involved.
