Man killed in Christmas Eve hit-and-run in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man was struck and killed by a car on Christmas Eve in Northeast Washington, D.C., as the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of 16th Street and North Carolina Avenue in the Kingman Park neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found an adult male pedestrian who had been fatally injured.

The car involved in the crash was left behind at the scene, but the driver had already fled. Police said there is currently no description of the driver as the investigation continues.
