Police seek help identifying suspects in violent and armed Bronx robbery spree

BRONX, NY — The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying individuals wanted in connection with a series of robberies targeting victims across the Bronx’s 43rd Precinct between July and November.

The incidents, involving groups of unidentified individuals, have primarily occurred in the vicinity of Sheridan Boulevard, Bronx River Avenue, and East 172nd Street. Victims have ranged in age from 12 to 44 and have been targeted for items such as cellphones, bicycles, jewelry, and cash. In several cases, the suspects displayed firearms or knives, while others involved physical assaults.

One of the earliest reported incidents occurred on July 6 at approximately 11:10 p.m. A 19-year-old man was punched multiple times by the suspects near Bronx River Avenue and East 172nd Street before they fled with his cellphone. The victim refused medical attention.

The most recent robbery in the pattern took place on November 5 at approximately 4:00 a.m. near 1490 Sheridan Boulevard. In this case, two suspects allegedly displayed a knife, placed a 37-year-old man in a chokehold, and stole his cellphone, wallet, and $300 in cash. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at Montefiore Medical Center in stable condition.

Several incidents involved weapons, including a report on September 1 at around 2:00 a.m., when suspects displayed a firearm and stole a chain from a 44-year-old man near Bronx River Parkway and East 172nd Street. Earlier that same morning, at 1:30 a.m., a group simulated a firearm to rob a 27-year-old man of his cellphone and headphones near Sheridan Boulevard and East 172nd Street.

Authorities have noted that the suspects often fled on foot or used stolen bicycles to escape. In one incident on October 7, a suspect displayed a knife to rob a 19-year-old victim of his bike and cellphone before fleeing the scene on the stolen bicycle toward Sheridan Boulevard.

The NYPD has released surveillance images of at least one individual believed to be connected to these incidents and continues to investigate the pattern. Officials urge anyone with information to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline.
