NORTH CANTON, OH — A lucky Mega Millions player in North Canton walked away with a $40,016 prize after matching four white balls and the Mega Ball in the December 17 drawing.
The winning numbers were 56, 66, 67, 68, 69, and the Mega Ball was 18. Using an auto-pick ticket, the player initially won $10,000 for matching four white balls and the Mega Ball. Thanks to the Megaplier option, which was set at 4x, the prize multiplied to $40,000. An additional $16 was earned on another line for matching one white ball and the Mega Ball.
The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Eagle #6378, located at 1955 E Maple Street in North Canton. After federal and state taxes totaling 28 percent, the winner will take home approximately $28,811.52.
