Police charge Baltimore man in brutal killing of woman in her home

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 46-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of a woman in the Eastern District on Tuesday night.

Investigators determined that Charles Meyers killed 42-year-old Krystal Praharnpap inside their home in the 1000 block of Quantril Way. Police were called to the scene at approximately 7:45 p.m. on December 17 for a report of an assault.

Officers forced entry into the home and found Praharnpap suffering from trauma. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, she was pronounced dead by medics at the scene.

Less than an hour later, at approximately 8:38 p.m., patrol officers located Meyers in the 1100 block of Armstead Way. He was arrested and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with first- and second-degree murder and assault.
