LAUREL, Md. – Local law enforcement teams will trade badges for hockey sticks Friday night as the Anne Arundel County Police Department Hockey Team faces off against the Howard County Heat in a charity game to benefit Toys for Tots.
The game, scheduled for 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., will be held at The Gardens Ice House, located at 13800 Old Gunpowder Road. Organizers are encouraging attendees to bring an unwrapped toy to donate, with all contributions going toward supporting children in need this holiday season.
The event marks a spirited collaboration between neighboring police departments, combining competition on the ice with a shared goal of giving back to the community.
“This game is about more than hockey. It’s about coming together to spread holiday cheer and make a difference for kids in need,” the Anne Arundel County Police Department shared in a statement on social media.

The charity game highlights the continued efforts of local law enforcement to engage with their communities while supporting charitable causes.
Police officers hit the ice Friday night to raise toys and smiles for children in need.
