This South Jersey woman was charged with murder in mother’s death at family home

WILLINGBORO, NJ — A 32-year-old woman has been charged with killing her mother in their shared home in the Hawthorne Park neighborhood, authorities announced Tuesday.

Breanna Beacham was charged with first-degree murder and two weapon offenses in connection with the death of her mother, Kim Beacham-Hanson, 57, who was found bludgeoned to death inside her Hopewell Lane residence.

Police responded to the home shortly before 4 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of an assault in progress. Investigators discovered Beacham-Hanson’s body at the scene, and an autopsy later confirmed the cause of death as multiple blunt-force injuries.

Beacham, who was temporarily staying at the home, was taken into custody at the scene and is being held at the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly pending a detention hearing. The case will be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.

The investigation, led by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Willingboro Township Police Department, remains ongoing, with detectives still working to determine a motive for the attack.
