ANNAPOLIS, MD — A routine response to a traffic collision on Tuesday night resulted in the arrest of a woman after officers discovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.
At approximately 8:20 p.m. on December 17, officers arrived at the intersection of Tower Place and Forest Drive, where a red Toyota Prius had been involved in a collision. During the investigation, police observed a pipe consistent with narcotics use inside a purse belonging to one of the occupants.
A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 108.88 grams of an unknown white powdery substance, 22.61 grams of suspected crack cocaine in packaging, and additional drug paraphernalia.
The driver, identified as 46-year-old Dawn Marie Krause, who has no fixed address, was charged and taken into custody.
The case highlights the value of thorough investigations during routine traffic incidents in uncovering illegal activities.
