Two South Carolina teens arrested in connection to teen’s murder after body found in burned car

CLINTON, S.C. — Two teenagers were arrested and charged following the murder of an 18-year-old whose body was discovered in a burned vehicle after she was reported missing, authorities said.

Malachi Pressley and Taylor Kinard, both 19, were taken into custody on Dec. 13 and remain held without bond at the Johnson County Detention Center. Pressley faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, while Kinard was charged with accessory after the fact.

The victim, MyAngel Walker, was reported missing on Dec. 12 when she failed to show up for her shift at NHC Healthcare’s facility in Clinton. Her body was found the following day inside a burned vehicle on a roadside in Greenwood County.

Clinton Police Chief Michael Addison said Pressley allegedly shot Walker on the night of Dec. 11, and Kinard assisted in the disposal of her body. “She had knowledge of it and she helped,” Addison told reporters.

Laurens Police Chief Heath Copeland explained that the nature of Walker’s disappearance raised immediate concerns. “It became apparent during the night that we were looking for something a little more than just somebody missing,” Copeland said.

The investigation is ongoing as officials work to determine further details surrounding Walker’s death and the events that led to the discovery of her body.

Authorities continue to investigate the tragic death of MyAngel Walker after two teenagers were charged in connection with the crime.
