BALTIMORE, Md. — A Maryland Lottery player in Bel Air struck it big last week, winning $1 million in the Mega Millions drawing on Dec. 10. The second-tier prize was part of a week in which Maryland Lottery winners collectively claimed more than $31.3 million.

The $1 million ticket remains unclaimed as of Sunday, Dec. 16. Lottery officials remind the winner that they have 182 days from the drawing date to redeem the prize. The next Mega Millions drawing, set for Dec. 17, has an estimated jackpot of $740 million, with a cash option of $342.9 million.

In addition to the Bel Air prize, other significant wins were reported across Maryland. A scratch-off player in Reisterstown claimed a $200,000 prize with a Ravens X10 ticket purchased at Giant Food on Reisterstown Road. Another big scratch-off winner in Waldorf took home $100,000 with a Mega Bucks ticket bought at U.S. Fuel on Crain Highway.

The Maryland Lottery also reported six third-tier Mega Millions winners during the ongoing jackpot roll, with prizes ranging from $10,000 to $40,000. These tickets were sold in Prince George’s, Baltimore, Harford, Montgomery, and Wicomico counties.

Maryland Lottery players are encouraged to sign the back of their tickets and check expiration dates, as winning draw game tickets expire 182 days after the drawing. Scratch-off prizes and FAST PLAY tickets must also be claimed within the same timeframe.

Winners of prizes exceeding $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which operates by appointment only.

Last week’s string of big wins across Maryland highlights growing lottery excitement as the Mega Millions jackpot continues to soar.
