18-year-old killed, another critically injured in Greenbelt shooting

GREENBELT, Md. — Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that left an 18-year-old dead and another man critically injured Sunday evening in the unincorporated section of Greenbelt, authorities announced.

The victim has been identified as Rasheed Davis, 18, of Germantown, Maryland.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting on December 15, 2024, at approximately 10:50 p.m. in the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road. Upon arrival, police found Davis and another adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a nearby hospital, where Davis was pronounced dead. The surviving victim remains in critical condition.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify any suspects connected to the incident. Authorities have not released further details.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
