REISTERSTOWN, Md. – Betty Hughes, a great-grandmother from Reisterstown, is celebrating her $200,000 win on the Ravens X10 scratch-off, making it a holiday season her family will never forget.
Betty, an avid Ravens fan and Lottery player, was shopping at the Giant grocery store on Reisterstown Road when she purchased the $10 instant ticket. After scratching it off on the spot, she discovered the top-prize win.
Accompanied by her daughter to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore on December 13, Betty shared plans to use her winnings to brighten the holidays for her large family, which includes three children, seven grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren—with three more on the way.
Betty expressed her excitement and said she plans to continue playing the Lottery in the future. Her daughter, who witnessed the big win, recalled the thrill of seeing the winning football symbol revealed on the ticket.
For selling the top-prize winning ticket, the Giant grocery store will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
