Teen arrested in Division Avenue robbery involving stolen scooter

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery in Northeast Washington that involved the theft of a scooter and a cell phone.

The robbery occurred on Nov. 28 at approximately 7:26 a.m. in the 600 block of Division Avenue, Northeast. Suspects exited a vehicle and approached the victim, with one suspect instructing the victim to turn around while sitting on the victim’s scooter. Other suspects took the victim’s cell phone before fleeing the scene with both the scooter and the phone.

On Dec. 10, the juvenile suspect, a resident of Northeast D.C., was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order and charged with Robbery (Fear).

The case remains under investigation, and police are encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for tips leading to further arrests or indictments.
