Man killed, teen injured in crash involving stolen vehicle in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC – A man is dead, and a teenage boy is hospitalized following a crash early Tuesday morning on Southern Avenue near Reed Terrace in Southeast Washington, where the D.C. and Maryland state lines meet.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:12 a.m. on December 10. Responders from DC Fire and EMS and the Prince George’s County Fire Department found both individuals trapped inside the vehicle. First responders worked together to rescue the two occupants.

The man was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The teenage boy was also hospitalized but is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.

MPD’s Major Crash Unit learned during the investigation that the crash involved a stolen vehicle, and a weapon was recovered from the scene.
