COLUMBIA, Md. — Howard County police are investigating a fatal collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian on Cedar Lane Monday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m., when an adult male pedestrian was crossing Cedar Lane near Holland Court and was struck by a 2013 Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound.
The pedestrian was transported to Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.
The driver of the Hyundai, also an adult male, remained at the scene and was not injured. Police closed Cedar Lane at Holland Court for about two hours to conduct their investigation.
