TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Misael Cardos Moro, a 34-year-old man booked in Ocean County on Monday, faces multiple charges stemming from an alleged violent encounter with law enforcement, according to county jail records.
Authorities report that Moro was taken into custody on charges that include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of the administration of law, resisting arrest with violence, and providing false information to hinder his own prosecution.
This is the second incident of an illegal alien assaulting a police officer in Ocean County in the past few days.
According to the booking report, Moro was committed to the Ocean County jail on December 9, and is being held without bail with an open ICE immigration detainer.
It is unsure whether or not Ocean County will honor the federal detainer at this time.
The charges against him range in severity, including third-degree and fourth-degree offenses under New Jersey law.
Details of the incident have not been released at this time.
