Governor Murphy: Nothing to worry about, as large drones continue flying over New Jersey neighborhoods

New Jersey residents are scratching their heads—and maybe ducking for cover—as mysterious, car-sized drones have been buzzing across the state. From Ocean County to Sussex County, these aerial intruders have been making nightly appearances, leaving everyone wondering: Who’s piloting these sky-high enigmas, and what’s their game plan?

Governor Phil Murphy has tried to calm the masses, stating, “We are actively monitoring the situation and in close coordination with our federal and law enforcement partners on this matter. There is no known threat to the public at this time.”

But let’s be real—when unidentified flying objects are hovering over your backyard, it’s hard not to feel a tad uneasy.

The FBI has stepped into the fray, launching an investigation and appealing to the public for any intel on these rogue drones.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has also jumped in, imposing flight restrictions over sensitive areas like the Picatinny Arsenal and Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.

“Given the intense level of justifiable concern in the community, if Phil Murphy says the drones flying over our reservoirs/water supply, 911 communication centers, power lines, natural gas pipelines, and local neighborhoods are not a threat, he needs to be transparent as to why. Now,” former New Jersey Assemblyman and candidate for governor in 2025, Jack Ciattarelli said.

Speculation is running wild. Are these drones part of a clandestine government operation? A corporate experiment gone rogue? Or perhaps they’re on a mission to locate the New York Giants and Jets, who both seemed to be MIA during their games this weekend.

As the investigation unfolds, residents are left to ponder the purpose of these nocturnal flights. Are they harmless surveillance tools, or do they have more sinister intentions? For now, the drones remain an unsolved mystery, hovering over New Jersey’s collective consciousness.
